A - Assessment - during the lesson, after the lesson, you need to be constantly thinking about where your children are and where they need to be.
B - Read blogs. There is a wealth of information from some wonderful educators out there. If you want to - write your own, it is a good way of reflecting on your role as a teacher and think about how you have developed.
C - Be childish. Children relish the teacher that shows that they can be a kid too - dress up for world book day, get stuck in during a game of duck duck goose, show them that you can have fun and let loose once in a while! It will make them see you as human.
E - You need to have high expectations to get the best out of your kids.
F - Forget that bad lesson - don't dwell, move on and LEARN FROM IT.
G - Be reflective, it will help you to grow as a teacher.
H - Help others. Whether it be a child, a colleague or a parent. Offer your help.
I - Inspire the young minds you are working with.
J - Join forces with others - other classes, other schools. Work collaboratively.
K - Keep up to date with paperwork, there is nothing more stressful than a pile of papers on your desk.... except maybe when that pile collapses and falls of the desk!
M - Make a big deal about every child's successes - no matter how small.
N - It's easier said than done but never take things personally.
O - Organisation is key. Organise your classroom, timetable, resources, it will help day-to-day go more smoothly.
P - Prepare prepare prepare.
Q - Develop your children's knowledge through effective questioning.
R - Take risks with your lessons, they will probably pay off!
S - Share good practice..........

U - Understand and accept that your to-do list will never been finished. Don't beat yourself up about it.
V - Be visible to parents, take time for them and be approachable. It will help to deal with problems before they escalate.
W - There are times of the year that are busier and you will feel your work/life balance is completely off kilter. Try and make sure that there is a balance during the rest of the year and make sure you......
X - .......E Xperience life!
Y - Don't say yes to everything - you will end up overwhelmed and overworked!
Z - Don't jump on the bandwagon with every zany idea going. Pick a few and try them out.
